Sublease agreement — create and download
Fill in the details below and get a complete Swedish sublease agreement as a PDF. The clauses on notice periods, permission and security of tenure are set automatically from the type of home you are letting — the rules differ between a rental apartment and a home you own. Nothing you enter is stored or sent anywhere.

Agreement at a glance
- Governing act
- The Tenancy Act (Chapter 12 of the Land Code)
- Term
- Open-ended
- Notice period
- 3 mo (landlord) / 3 mo (tenant)
- Permission required from
- The landlord or the Rent Tribunal
Worth knowing
- You have not stated any permission. Letting without permission can cost you your own home — make sure permission is in place before the agreement is signed.
- The letting can run for more than two consecutive years. At that point the subtenant gains security of tenure against you (Chapter 12, § 45 of the Land Code). To avoid it you need a waiver drawn up in a separate document — putting it in the contract is not enough — which as a rule must be approved by the Rent Tribunal (Chapter 12, § 45 a of the Land Code).
